Description

The STMicroelectronics M48T08‑150PC1 is a highly integrated Timekeeper® module that combines 8 kB (8 K × 8) SRAM with a precision real-time clock (RTC), all within a single 28-pin DIP package. This module merges memory, a quartz crystal, and a long-life lithium button cell in the CAPHAT™ housing for reliable, uninterrupted data storage and timekeeping—even during power loss. Setting itself apart, this module supports byte-wide RAM-like clock access, and includes automatic power-fail control to protect data integrity with automatic deselection during voltage drops. The real-time clock operates with BCD-coded timekeeping (year, month, day, date, hours, minutes, seconds) and maintains accuracy to within approximately ±1 minute per month at 25 °C, ensuring precise timing functions. It is electrically and functionally compatible with the DS1643, fits standard JEDEC 8 K × 8 SRAM sockets, and requires no special write-timing or wear limitations. The integrated crystal and battery make it ideal for applications where both memory retention and timekeeping continuity are critical.
